SELF DEFENSE TECHNIQUES FOR THE REAL WORLD

Are you interested in learning simple assault prevention and self defense techniques?  Classes are taught by active law enforcement officers and current part-time "Defensive Tactics" instructors at the Oregon Police Academy.  There is no prior law enforcement or martials arts experience required.  These courses are designed for BEGINNERS.  Learn street proven techniques that are currently being taught to recruit police, corrections and parole officers.  But more importantly, you will learn techniques that could save your life in the event that you are assaulted.  The following statistics, obtained from the U.S. Department of Justice - Bureau of Justice Statistics, may give you some idea as to how beneficial this training could be;

Victimization Rate per 1,000 females age 12 and over (2002)
- 20.8 will be the victim of a violent crime, including Rape and Sexual Assault
- 1.6 will be the victim of a Robbery
- 17.4 will the victim of an assault (2.1 involving a weapon)

While you will learn some basic fighting skills, the goal of our program is to train SURVIVORS, not competition fighters.  Our goal is to give our students the necessary skills to stop the assault and create a window of oppurtunity in which she can escape or call for assistance.  Interested?  Please click on the links to the left to view a list of current and upcoming courses, instructor bios and a calender of class times.

Classes are currently being held at the "Eugene Dance Factory," located at 30 East 17th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon.  Please visit our friends at the Eugene Dance Factory.
